When does the first trimester end?

I'm 13 weeks today and I thought this was the end of the first trimester. Now various websites are, like, "one more week to go!" I had really thought I might be able to breathe a little easier b/c I have been so terrified of miscarrying. First pregnancy and I'm 36. Had a good 12 week ultrasound this past week, and thought I'd tell some friends this week but now feeling like I'm jumping the gun. UGH!

There is nothing magic about the end of the first trimester and miscarriage risk. Miscarriage risk drops regularly throughout the first trimester. This website is helpful— https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart

If you want to tell people, tell them!

THIS.

There is nothing magical between week 13 and 14, OP. Check the chart above for the risk. But week 14 isn't a safe guard anymore than week 21, 26, or 38. I don't mean to be grim, but realistic.

There's a difference between 13th week and week 13. It's like the new year, we're in 2000's but the 21st century.

Yes, I know. I am at 13W1D now, meaning I have completed 13 weeks (and thus am in my 14th week). My confusion was from the fact that some websites say the first trimester starts at week 13, and some say it starts at week 14.
