Epiduo and Azalaic Acid

Anonymous
My son's dermatologist prescribed both of these gels for my son to use. She said start off the Epiduo with once a day and the Azelaic Acid twice a day. Has anyone's kid used both of these? Did they put one on first and then other later? I'll call the office to ask this but just wondering if anyone had experience with these topicals. TIA.

I use prescription strength Azelaic acid (Finacea) on my face to treat rosacea. When I switched to it from another rosacea medication, I found it extremely drying and had to drop down to only using it once a day for a month or so. You might watch to keep that in mind. I had to use a really heavy face cream to combat the dryness. My kids used Epiduro Forte and found it to be drying as well. If it were me, I'd use the Epiduro for a couple of weeks, then add the Azelaic acid once a day for a month and see how it goes before doing the Azelaic acid twice a day. I'd also start out using one product at night and the other during the day.

Thanks PP. Very helpful. Did you just let the Epiduo dry and then put moisturizer on over it?
