5yr wants Elsa bedding for Christmas

I am not against character bedrooms or anything it’s just that she already has beautiful bedding that matches her room. Elsa bedding definitely does not match her room. However this is what she is insisting on for Christmas....do I try and convince her to pick something else or just get it.

Can you get her an Elsa sleeping bag

Elsa sheets, pillow cases and throw blanket?

I got my DD the Frozen sheets and a light blue comforter. Will your DD go for that?

I have gorgeous bedding for my 4 year old too. But she got Elsa sheets and likes them. I wouldn’t do the ugly comforters but sheets are fine. For what it’s worth, the Elsa sheets we have are crap. They’re like polyester and just feel junky.

This with a blanket.

I was against it too but for us it was short lived so I went ahead with it when kid was young. Just don't spend a lot as they will want something else later on. I'd get sheets and a blanket and regular comforter as a compromise.

She’s 5. Buy at least some sheets and a blanket. Maybe buy a sleeping bag, too. Don’t let the reason you don’t buy this stuff be that it doesn’t match the perfectly curated room that YOU envisioned.

PS - PBK has a set that is not so character-ish.

Just get it. You have to get out all your decorating energy on the nursery. From like 3 (imo) to 18, it’s much more important that their room is an expression of themselves than that it look elegant (of course safety, function and affordability are more important than both). If you can afford the bedding comfortably I would do it. The old bedding can probably be donated.

It’s sweet, and I’d imagine that she won’t want it a year or two from now. They grow up really, really fast.

I got my daughter a Olaf comforter at that age. You can get a cheap one at target and just put your nice one on if you have company. Or you could do a fleece blanket that she could put on her bed and then fold up at the foot as directed.

Omg. I can’t imagine not buying sheets for a 5 year old because it doesn’t match the decor.

Once she’s old enough to express an opinion, her room should reflect her choices. As long as it’s kept reasonably clean, she should be able to choose the decor if you can afford new bedding and it’s what she wants most for Christmas.

Jeez ... just get the kid the bedding she wants.

Are you always this controlling?

Why can't you get her Elsa sheets? You can cover it up with whatever comforter or quilt that you love. It's her room, give her something to enjoy.
