A plug for poll working

I know a number of people joined the ranks of poll workers or volunteers this election. I was among them. I just want to say it was a very positive experience, and gave me a bit of positive hope and respect for our elections. And it was less time consuming than I had anticipated. Yesterday was a super long day, to be sure, but the training was mostly online, with limited ii-person training that could be done in the evening/ weekends. And the other poll workers were across the board nice, competent people. I was glad to learn they were my neighbors and fellow citizens.
Encourage anyone who was thinking about it to go for it next election.

It was a very positive experience for me too.

There were also many high-school students working the polls, which I was happy to see. Civic engagement, plus it's good money for a high-school kid.

Same here. I served for the first time on Tuesday and really enjoyed it. My chief and teammates were incredibly nice and helpful. I'll definitely do it again.
