Preschools in AU Park

We are moving to AU Park and we are looking at St. Ann's preschool for our 3 year old. We also have a 2 year old and would like a few days per week program for her. Any advice on preschools in AU Park are appreciated. We are really open to all programs. Thanks!

St. Columba's is for 3s and 4s only. Try Chevy Chase Baptist Church, Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church and Franklin Montessori.

Those schools are not in AU Park though, they are in Chevy Chase.

Westmoreland Children's Center has a 2 year old program, as does Metropolitan Nursery School & Spring Valley Montessori. Otherwise, you have to branch out beyond AU Park to Chevy Chase, DC or Bethesda for close-by schools with 2 year old programs.

Westmoreland seems impossible to get into. Last year we tried and apparently the entire 2's class was filled by siblings. It's also a good ways up Mass- definitely not AU Park. The only preschools I know of actually in AU Park would be Metropolitan- of which I know a few families that go there and they all seem to like it- and Spring Valley Montessori. SVM seems to get unanimously horrid comments on this board, but I will say I have a very good friend that's there for her second year and she likes it. But even based on what I see from what her kid brings home, etc it doesn't seem to think "out of the box" much- ie, learning a letter each day etc. I've also heard on this board about their failure to diagnose LD's which I suspect might be going on with my friend's child too. Not to mention the losing the kid at turtle park incident last summer, which I'm sure you could find discussed in archives.
