I hopeful for a BFP - the line is so faint that I think I am making it up. OK - this is for 3 tests over 3 days not just 1. Should the line get darker? Wait a few days a test with a different brand (batch)? Chemical pregnancy?
Going to my dr and getting a blood test will not happen any time soon as I am currently a patient at GT and it will take at least 2 weeks to get me in. (can my PCP do this for me?) TIA for all of your comments |
| where are you in your cycle |
|
go get a digital pregnancy test.
i don't know what GT is, but couldn't a nurse give you an order to go to quest or lab corp for a beta test? doesn't hurt to ask, right? and all they have to do is call you w/ the results....it's not like an exam or anything. that doesn't usually happen until around 8 weeks... |
Cycle is a bit irregular and I am not charting as I have a toddler and find that I can not take my temp on a daily basis so gave up. Right now I am at 34 days. My most recent cycles were: 29. 31, 28 and 44 (44 4 cycles ago)
Georgetown Ob/Gyn Practice - my experience is they are not very good about getting you in for an appt unless it is an emergency. |
Digitals are less sensitive than some of the other tests on the market - so while you get a clear "yes" or "no" result, the "no" might not be accurate if your hCG is still very low. First Response Early Result (not Rapid Result) is the most sensitive test out there. It claims to detect a level of 25 but tests show it can pick up as low as 6. You said you've taken 3 tests over 3 days - are you using the same brand of test each time and testing at the same time each day (and holding urine/limiting fluids for the same length of time)? It's hard to know whether the failure of the line to get darker is because of those factors, because your hCG isn't rising, or because the test just isn't getting darker for some other reason while your levels are indeed rising. You really need a blood test. There was just another thread about this a few days ago. You might want to check there. |
| thanks for your comments, I will go and read the previous thread as well |

Highly recommend a First Response Early Result digital test that say prenant or not pregnant. What do you have to lose? For what it's worth -- I had a similar situation and my husband wouldn't believe me that a "faint line is still a line" until he saw the "pregnant" sign on the digital test.
Let us know what happens! |
| I am off this afternoon to purchase new tests - will test 1st thing tomorrow AM. |

OP:
I went out at lunch time and purchased EPT digital test. I decided to go that route b/c the poster who said that it is less sensitive. I thought this way, I will "know for sure". I purchased a package that had 2 tests and decided to take one a bit after lunch - and the result is "Pregnant" Yeah!!! Now how to figure out how to tell DH. I am excited - and nervous as I have crossed the bar into pregnant and 40. Thanks for everyone's input. |
| Congratulations! |
| Any kind of line means that you are pregnant! Congrats! |
