Why are white progressives and super radical woke white people pushing this defund and abolish cops narrative along with the small smathering of black and brown folks.

This will hurt the group that they are trying to protect and once crime has gone up the yuppie progressive white folks will have the money to up and move while the black and brown folks won't.

Every year the DC Police remove hundreds of weapons from the hands of dangerous criminals while the council passes a Red Flag law that removes one weapon and they pat themselves on the back like they've done something. Think Ed Lazere will come to your aid in the middle of the night?

My theory is that they don't want to accept that everything in the nation is systemically racist, so they like to pile on to police as a way of avoiding looking at their own actions. There is virtue signaling too. But I'm amazed at the people who talk about defunding police, but who choose private schools to avoid the majority black and brown populations at their local school.

This. And they deserve more input into policing. But I am not hearing anything about even defunding much less abolishment. Just give them a voice. And listen.
