Crudités and relish trays

Anonymous
We’ll be having Thanksgiving at home with just our family and since their favorite thing is usually the sides and the nibbles, that’s what I’m going to focus on. What’s your favorite thing to put on a relish tray? I usually just stick to the boring stuff (olives, pickles, carrots, celery, cauliflower - the radishes have been way too hot for me lately) but I’d like to do something a little fun for the day.

There was a big relish tray thread 2 years ago. Long live the relish tray!

The OP said they’re having Thanksgiving at home with just their family so your comment makes no sense

Blanched green beans
Endive leaves
Bell pepper strips

I personally like heavy herb-based creamy dips. There're a few on the NYT cooking website that are good.

Endive leaves! I always forget they’re a thing! OP.

I love color themed tray!

Green
snap peas, celery, cucumbers, green peppers, blanched broccoli, green olives, and a green goddess or scallion dip

Yellow
pimento cheese, cheez-its, sweet potato chips, pickled carrots, deviled eggs with paprika

Purple
olives, crisp roasted purple cauliflower, caponata/eggplant dip, blue potato chips (terra brand has one and I think TJs also does), fig and olive crisps from TJs, brie with caramelized red onions and figs

The yellow should be orange! But they're all yellow/orange anyway.

I totally agree with the endive. I also love celery stuffed with blue cheese dip and mushroom caps stuffed with sausage.

I’m 54 and in all my years never knew relish trays were a thing for Thanksgiving. I love that kind of stuff but never associated with Thanksgiving. This has been enlightening
