It is on turf and there is no thunder. It is expected to be on. We even play games on grass in weather like this before.

We moved to DMV from Seattle. Were blown away that soccer games were canceled because of rain at first. Get a grip, embrace diversity and weather, conditions, etc.

Welcome to the world of the politically correct pansies. These folks abandon their cars on the interstate when a few flakes of snow falls. And these folks wonder why the rest of the nation despises DC. You are lucky that they are even playing team sports given the pandemic.

Only games that are played on grass in MoCo are canceled by the Public Parks Dept or Soccerplex due to damages to grass fields. Turf fields don’t get canceled unless there are lightning.

Yes we had most games canceled for rain on grass fields a couple years ago and was not happy. The next year they paid for turf fields at those schools.. so it could be worse.

MSI question...weird question but does any of the MSI kits come with orange socks or does a neighboring club have them? I saw some MSI boys playing an NCSL game with orange socks this weekend and thought it was odd. Thanks

No. MSI Academy only have green or white socks. For breast awareness month last year, our Academy girls team wore pink socks for two games. Maybe they decided to wear Orange to recognize or in memory of someone.

Good point, but it was only like two or three of the kids, so I was thinking they came from another team because they didn't seem to be on the regular roster. Not positive. Thanks

Sounds like they might have picked up a few guest players from their classic teams. Teams typically have extra jerseys in case a player forgets theirs but not socks. But either way, I’m surprised the referee allowed this. Some ref are very picky about uniform compliance.

Does MSI do travel? I thought it was just a rec program. Do teams only play NCSL? I was always surprised that the club did not offer a serious travel program given that there are so may rec teams with players looking to step up to a higher level of competition. I could never understand why MSI ceded that market to Bethesda, which is a disaster on the girls side.

if it's classic playing in NCSL, MSI holds the player card and can legitimately add them as a guest player to a league game
