Palisade and Telluride

Anonymous
Why are people saying the palisades and Tellirude are hard to get? When I go online and check inventory I see there’s decent amount of them available (at least with palisade). Am I seeing something different from others?

For those who choose Telluride, is the the ride floaty?

Most of the ones you see online are not on the lots yet, they’re in transit to the lots

Any way to tell which is on the lot and which is pending?

Many say “in transit” in small letters somewhere. Also, we learned that many of the “in transit” ones already have a deposit on them. They wanted $500 from us to reserve one that wouldn’t be in for 1-2 months. They couldn’t even show us a comparable one to view and drive. Needless to say we passed. There are plenty of other options.

Keep in mind a lot of it may depend on trim style too — the inventory doesn’t match the trim wanted by the specific poster.

We were fortunate to snag a Telluride just before Covid started. The dealer didn't have one on the lot but since DD has purchased a used KIA Sorento from the same dealer, when a new Telluride was delivered, the manager held the Telluride for us. Great car. All four of us love to drive it.

You have to shop around at different dealers. Most go to one dealer and expect it on the lot to buy now.

OP here. Looking at the then palisade limited or calligraphy model. So it sounds like MSRP prices are for real.

We purchased one in Dec - could not find it locally the trim we wanted. Even to test drive the AWD - there were none in the area.

We purchased it while we were out of town. Could not be happier.

Antwerpen in Clarksville has a few limited and 1 calligraphy on the lot, I was there Yesterday

As popular as this car has been, I have yet to see one on the road. Tons of Audi but 0 of these.

Now Murphy’s law will kick in.

OP here. I seen them listed as on lots in VA but are they not moving because they all want MSRP?

MSRP and a surcharge in some cases. Hopefully for buyers, these things don't depreciate like other Hyundai's and Kias

Well, they’re getting MSRP so why sell to you for less? The next guy will buy it

Yes, we were interested in them a while back. Everyone within 100 mile radius wanted 4K (at least) over MSRP! No way we were going to pay that especially since the resale value will never stay with the hype. People will never be able to get ahead on that one.
