I am looking for a half-day Montessori program, starting in January, for my 3 year old on or near Capitol Hill. Hoping for 5 days a week but we are open to 3 or 2 day programs if the school was the right fit.
Right now looking at The Hill Preschool, Northeast Stars, and ToTH (Toddlers on the Hill), though not clear yet on whether ToTH offers rolling admissions this late in the year. Interested in opinions, experiences, and advice on all of these programs. Also open to other programs in NE and SE, or even close-in Maryland, if people know of them and can recommend. I am interested in the teaching staff, Covid procedures, and in particular, anyone who has experience sending a very high energy but extremely shy child to one of these programs. The most important things to me are experienced teachers and a welcoming environment. I'm feeling a little blind right now because school tours are somewhat limited at the moment and it can be a little hard to get a feel for the programs. Thank you in advance for your insight! |
Do any of them even have openings? |
Toth is a really wonderful program with qualified, engaged guides. We have had our son there since he was a toddler and he is now a rising Kindergartener. He has had to work through some behavioral issues and they have been kind, helpful and engaged. Highly recommend. |
