Anyone been to Colonial Beach, VA?

Anonymous
I am trying to find a quick summer beach vacation. Has anyone been to Colonial Beach? Is it ok?

I have been there. I have a house on the Northern Neck. Don't recommend for a vacation. The "beach" is on the Potomac and probably not that clean.
Not much to do. Eastern or Delaware shore would be a better choice.

Thank you - I wondered how clean it would be. I will try some other areas.

bwahahahahahaha... as someone who's been going there for 20 years, Col Beach is NOT a vacation destination. Thanks for the good laugh.

I own a home there, you could have a fun weekend there. Not a full vacation. There is nice berry farm Westmoreland Berry Farm that has ice cream sundaes, and animals and stuff. There is a small boardwalk and pier. There is a nice playground near the beach. The beach is pretty rocky sand, the water is full of jellyfish. If you like to boat might be nice.

I inheritedt he house, would not have bought there otherwise! Also there are a fewother things--George Washington's birthplace, Westmoreland state park (they have really cheap cabins for a cheap getaway) and there is a winery nearby.

Geez, thank God I asked because the pics on the Internet make it look nice and ok.
