My 15yo daughter's face shape and eyes changed significantly during the past year. Her face got wider and more round, and her eyes are much larger and rounder. Several people have commented on it.
Is this common? I've noticed that most girls' faces tend to get more angular and longer. |
| I would mention it to her doctor and ask if it’s worth seeing an endocrinologist about. |
+1 It sounds like a potential thyroid issue. |
| My older DD’s face became much more angular during her early to late teens. |
| Has she gained weight? That could account for face change. |
| Only have boys... First face got rounder, second and third got more angular. Eyes... didn’t notice. Maybe lighter for my third (chocolate brown to more amber). |

Or Cushings. Yes, see a doc. |
| Sounds like Cushings |
| Cushings or Graves Disease |

My face got fat and round in HS through college—even without gaining significant weight.
It slimmed out in my mid-20s. I have had a few friends that were similar. I was even called “chipmunk cheeks” endearingly. I had cheekbones emerge in my late 20s/early 30s. Plus side, at 50 I look really young for my age. I think hormones had a lot to do with it. |
Oh and if I gain a little weight- to this day it shows up in my face first. |
| Changing eyes is classic thyroid issue. Google "Graves Disease." |
| Agree this is potentially hyperthyroid. Other symptoms: dry eyes, weight loss, ianxiety, insomnia, high heart rate, increased sweating, muscle weakness. |
