Best apartments in Back Bay?

Anonymous
Moving from DC to Boston and will be working in Back Bay. Looking for a 2 BR walkable to Back Bay. Which apartment buildings would you recommend (or not) in Back Bay/Beacon Hill? Budget for a 2 BR is $3-3.5K/mo. TIA!

Following. We were looking at 2 BR this summer, and rent was more like $4K to $6K+!
One thing thing is that rent has come down slightly, and some landlords are waiving realtor fee.
Some luxury apartment buildings (One Back Bay) may be offering 1-2 months free rent.

Thanks - which building in Back Bay?

It's called One Back Bay, operated by the Related Group. Also the Arlington. There are full-amenity buildings, so rent is high. But at some point late this summer, they were promoting 1-3 months of free rent which is unheard of in Boston.

That’s a low budget for back bay. My DC pays $3000 for a 1 BR. You may need to go up to $4000-4500 for a 2 bedroom. Rents came down a few hundred over the summer, and as PP noted many of the managed buildings are offering free rent. In Back Bay you may also want to consider a rental in the smaller condo buildings.
