What's with the 80+ trucks in Bethesda?

I was just in downtown Bethesda and there are 80+ HUGE trucks parked along Old Georgetown Road stretching from the hospital all the way into town. They have taken one of the lanes. Anyone know what's going on? Are they preparing to remove the snow overnight?

What kind of trucks?

MoCo borrowed snow plows and crews from PA and NC for the past storm. Did you see any markings?

What a wild sight--we saw it too. And when I was stopped at the light, I asked one of the drivers who was standing outside his truck, where they were headed. He said they were all going to fill the trucks with snow and head out of town to dump it. It was amazing the shear number of trucks and makes you realize how expensive it is to deal with the snow this winter!

Why go all the way out of town. They could put it in one field around here. Or a construction site that has been abandoned.

Too much snow and too much runoff when it melts.
