Progesterone levels in early pregnancy

I just got positive beta test back (I am at about 4 weeks, 3 days). My HCG was 540 (and was 60 a few days before, so increasing nicely), but my progesterone was only 22.5. Is this low? In my last pregnancy it was in the 40s, so that is why I'm a bit concerned.

The normal threshold REs like to see for progesterone in pregnancy is 20, so you are over that threshold. If you are concerned, then you can ask your doc if you can take a progesterone supplement like prometrium, which is a vaginal suppository. One note - if you take progesterone supplements like prometrium and test your blood levels, then the levels will not reflect the addition of the suppositories as it is not absorbed into your bloodstream. It will be helping, but not in a way that you can measure.
