Why have some schools still not heard from central office?

Anonymous
Does anyone have any intel on why some schools haven’t been informed yet about in-person offers? We were told last night that we would hear today instead but weren’t given a reason and still haven’t heard anything.

I assume you’re referring to SWS. That said, I see in another thread that someone got a K offer and another reportedly got a 5th offer, so I’m assuming SWS families were notified (and that my high-needs IEP kid lost the lottery).

That said I keep hitting refresh on my email waiting for that magic invite to come in.

I saw about 5th grade but not about K. I was hoping the 5th grade was an anomaly where everyone gets a spot. I also have a high needs IEP child and just can’t accept the reality that we didn’t get a spot 😭

I haven’t heard anything about Ludlow-Taylor placements here or through the school rumor mill. Anyone?

Some Janney families heard.

What's with the people who keep trying to flag the high neediness of their IEPs? Unless I misunderstood the lottery there is no such thing. You are either in the "with IEP" group or not. There wasn't suppose to be a sub-categories. Am I wrong about how the logic was deployed?

Correct the lottery does not distinguish between the number of hours of an IEP.

My kid has a 15 hour/week IEP and was not offered a slot, precisely because the system did not distinguish between my kid and one with a one hour/month IEP.

So the system failed to give priority based on level of need.

Wow, surprised parents share so much information with each other about their children's IEP service levels. If you were my friend, I definitely wouldn't!

Why would you be ashamed to talk about your kid?

Someone upstream in some thread mentioned your child will be online 3 hours a day/15 hours a week since all sped are staying dl. The in-person may not have made that much difference. I am sorry - just trying to look on the bright side for you. You will likely get a cares classroom, and with your child online so much in in special ed anyway, it may be an Ok option for you. Hugs

Right adhd, dyslexia, autism. They are not moral failings.

As a result of DL, I know all of the other kids who have IEPs for speech therapy with my DS’ speech therapist, since she has channels on her Teams with each of their names.
