We have been checked out by SGF - whole 9 nine yards, HSG, sonogram, sperm analysis, etc. It looks like our low sperm motility is the issue (~28% progressive motility), though overall motility is closer to ~70%.
Has anyone had such an issue? How did you address - is IVF ICSI the only recourse? Have people had success with using supplements (Fertilaid etc) to increase motility to go for IUI? |

We were dealing with lower motility (11 percent on average)....however we didn’t have success with IUI and actually 2/3 were cancelled because there were only a few motile sperm left after the wash. Tried Fertilaid. Tried Clomid. Anyway after 1.5 years we did ICSI and it worked.

| DH's motility was poor (don't recall specifics) and we have two kids. First with clomid, couple of months. Second first time IUI (w/SGF)... I wouldn't fret. |
| We have low motility and low morphology and have conceived 3 times. All losses, but clearly sperm is meeting egg. |
| Op here Thank you! What does clomid do for men? |
| Clomid for men. Takes a few months to start working. |
| I think my husband’s motility was similar. Took ICSI two rounds for first baby then we had a natural surprise. He was on vitamins when we conceived both babies and not on vitamins the cycle we had only one blast but BFN. Coincidence? Who knows. And by vitamins I mean plain old daily multivitamin. |
| Clomid doesn't always work for men. My husband's results didn't change at all. |

So my partner’s urologist did tell us Clomid doesn’t increase motility, just counts. But can work to increase counts enough so that the same percentage of motile sperm is more. I’m probably not explaining that well.
Anyway it also takes 3 months to work. My partner tried it for 6 months but we still couldn’t get enough motile for IUI. |
