Personal shopper/stylist recommendation

Anonymous
I know that some department stores have personal shoppers, but are there any independent stylist or fashion consultants out there? I'm looking to update my wardrobe a bit, but would like to find someone who can help me sort through what i have, build on some of my existing staples and give guidance for what works with my figure.

I used to work in advertising, so, while not the most stylish woman in the world, I worked with many women who were, so could live vicariously through their wardrobes to keep up with trends. After having 2 kids and working for some very casual and crunchy non-profits, I am now completely lost. sigh.

Of course, i also don't want to break the bank.

Toni Leinhardt --http://www.tonileinhardt.com/. I don't know her, but a good friend of mine does and speaks very highly of her -- easy to work with, can do great things with any budget, really nice, etc.

OP, I have worked with wardrobe consultants and I can't emphasize enough how important the fit is with you - your needs, your learning style, budget and goals. You need to mesh with this person- feel comfortable with her and know that she understands what you want and need.

Go to www.aici.org which is the professional association that oversees the industry. They list all consultants who meet specific criteria as well as those who are advanced and hold special certification. Some have their websites listed so you can check them out. I would then call 3 of them to get a feel re what they can do for you.
