The purpose of this discussion is for you to hear from current moms with Preschool and PreK-aged kids. The first
generation of Dctwins (the "2005 cohort") now has a year and a half of preschool and preK under its collective belt. Our kids have gone to a range of preschools, from private to charter schools to public schools, and all have lived to tell about it. My kids are at HD Cooke, other twin parents have kids at Lamb, Bridges, Apple Tree, West Elementary, Communikids, Murch, Bancroft, and others. We are pulling together a meeting so that we can share our experiences, so that you other parents have some tools at your disposal when making decisions about what to do in the future. Many of us want to stay in the District - this discussion should help you decide if the school options out there look good, at least for the short-term. This is an informal discussion so that you can hear from actual real live parents who have survived the school choice morass. We will also talk about what lies ahead for us next year, as the first cohort enters Kindergarten. Where: All Souls Church Unitarian, 1500 Harvard St NW When: 2/16/10, 7:15 PM in Pierce Hall. You are encouraged to bring refreshments for the reception afterwards. More information is available on the DCUM calendar --Libbie Buchele |
Just wanted to let people know that this forum is still ON - it will be canceled if the Federal government is closed (the church follows the Feds), but otherwise it will happen.
Thanks! --Libbie |
I am out of town and unable to attend. Is there anyway at all that notes could be shared on this listserv after the meeting? |
I'll do my best to do a summary afterwards |
