Tightness in Stomach in first trimester

Anonymous
I am not completely sure if it’s a physical thing or am I just making it up in my head. I am just 8 weeks, but since last two weeks, I feel this tightness in my stomach area. Anything that sits slightly snug feels uncomfortable. I am sort of eating much healthier now than before the pregnancy so it’s not the weigh, maybe bloating?! But I think it’s too early to feel like this.

I think it's bloating. I remember being 8 weeks and thinking I had a visible (although small) bump already...looking back it definitely wasn't visible to anyone but me. And I definitely lovingly rubbed that little tiny bloat bump

I also had weird "tightness"/cramps/round ligament type pain from week 5-9ish. I remember worrying when these feelings subsided that something was wrong but all was perfectly fine. Things move around/loosen up in early pregnancy to prepare your body for what is to come - I think your uterus expands and your placenta grows much faster than the actual baby (still a raspberry size or something at that time).

I had a lot of bloating early in the first tri. My weight went up by like 6-7 lbs in the first tri with all my pregnancies (water weight) by like 8 weeks with bloating weight and I felt tightness/uncomfortableness. Then it dropped off almost overnight.

Yes, pants suck! Don’t even try and find ones that work.

Hormones are very high in the first tri, and for some people, that means a lot of bloating.

For me, it was contractions. Spent the rest of it on meds and bed rest. It was my whole stomach tightening and very uncomfortable.
