Ncsl higher card totals this fall

Has anyone noticed a high number of yellow and red cards issued this fall ? Not sure if its being directed from the league to issue them more or just players being more reckless.

Just one anecdote here, but this season I saw the first red card (in a house game) and the first yellow card (in a travel game) after 5 years of watching my kids play soccer.

We’re in CCL and have noticed way more yellow cards this year.

I think its the case of players being more aggressive and disrespectful. I've noticed kids younger and younger talking back to the referee and cursing at them. Less and less coaches have control over their teams.

I have seen more aggression and disrespect between humans all around lately, including on and around the soccer fields. So my money is on more cards being warranted and referrees less inclined to tolerate it.

I hope the refs keep up the yellows for back talking kids, parents and disrespectful coaches

Anyone have the card tallies from last fall to compare to this fall?

I bet they are about the same.

These things tend to even out as the season goes on.

Different league but we have seen what could be racially motivated calls. When we travel to some areas some refs seem to only pick on the one minority kid on the field at the time. Everyone will be fouling left and right and then some crash happens and it will be blamed on this child or the other child. The other players can be flagrantly pushing and pulling on shirts and nothing. These are conservative areas.

The Leagues and Clubs need to support their referees.

The best thing about being a Soccer Referee is that you control the game. Parent acting out. Game stops until they leave. If we want Youth Referees, this is critical.

If there is demonstrable measurable difference, these referees need to be disciplined.

WATCH OUT. HUNGRY TROLLS ABOUT. DON'T FEED THE TROLLS.

I've never seen this in my life and I've watched a lot of kids soccer games. What I have seen however - about every other post - is trolls trying to get a reaction on this board.
