Our new house has 2 shelves above the toilet in the water closet of the master bath. What the heck do you "display" there?
Toilet paper and paper towels. I put them in attractive basket containers so it looks a little less utilitarian.
If you don’t need them, take them down.
I have them in my powder room with a pedestal sink because there is no storage. The shelf holds extra tp (in a basket), a bottle of extra soap, and air freshener spray.
Put a "Live, Laugh, Love" sign there.
Nah, you need one of those signs that says "Enjoy your Poop." Google it. It's a thing -- apparently.
Poo-pourri
I am too paranoid having shelves over the toilet. I am always afraid something is going to fall in.
Hello, you Pinterest-addict, you |
I just installed shelves like this in our guest bathroom since there is a pedestal sink with no other storage. I put extra TP, candle (on top shelf), tissues, hand lotion, and before guests come I'll put a little basket with essentials for them.
It is meant for convenience, not for display. I would assume you would put extra toilet paper and feminine hygiene products there. Maybe some candles, matches/lighter, and air freshener.
I have plants on the top shelf, toilet paper on the lower shelf along with some fancier display soaps.
I actually installed shelves in our master bed room water closet toilet area, primarily for function vs decorative. I put extra toilet paper (no basket) and a reed diffuser on it.
^^this toilet is only used by DH and me so there’s no one to look at it but him (while he’s “going”) and he wouldn’t appreciate it enough.
