Help me buy my midlife crisis car

Anonymous
I'm in my late 40s, female. Done with the sensible SUV now that I'm an empty nester. Looking at the BMW M240i. My price range is about $45,000. Thoughts?

Get an EV — fantastic pickup/torque, tons of fun to drive. Lots of good options available/coming

Get a BMW 435i convertible.

I'm 54 and not quite an empty nester yet, but now both teens are driving so it's time for the fun car for me.

I have had convertibles before--had a Miata when they first came out and were a craze, and then later on. Super-fun car but tiny.

The BMW is the only hard-top convertible that has room for 4, so my family can all be in it if we have to be (and the dog, too) It's super-quiet when the top is up.

But most importantly, it drives like a dream. I love it so much!

I got mine used, one owner, no damage, off a three year lease, by looking at AutoTrader.com. But I would consider buying new as well, just because I've been so happy with it.

Tesla. Please go drive one and then see if you still want a BMW. Why would anybody who can afford to buy Tesla buy any other car?

None of those cars are midlife crisis cars. Any bmw or Tesla is boring.

Ferrari convertible
Porsche convertible
2020 corvette convertible
1971 Cuda Convertible
1969 Chevrolet SS Convertible
Classic 1970s Ford Bronco (removable top)

Tesla? Half the teenage girls in Potomac has one and BMW screams middle aged Jewish Dentist.

I had a beautiful BMW only middled aged housewives loved it.

My Crisis car i regret selling. 1969 Black two door Dodge Charger like from Fast and Furious. I literally pull up to a bar, restaurant or wedding and car would be surrounded. Notes under windshield every time I Parked.

I recall some middle age guy in corvette with hot blonde and she was smiling at me at red light, set let’s “light it up. I gave him a two second head start and beat home to next light. Was a beast! Tesla himself was a man who died broke, alone, never married and no kids

Tesla screams starbucks drinking soccer mom who thinks she is driving a sporty car and being green.

Go for something fun with a personality.
