vacation homes in Sanibel Island/Fort Myers area??

So, I've been looking around VRBO for places to rent next December. I was hoping to find homes like those in the Outer Banks - very large number of bedrooms, lots of amenities, etc. However, it seems like all properties are 4 bedrooms or less? Is that kind of house just not down in that area? I'm not at ALL familiar with that area of Florida (or any of Florida, for that matter). What parts of the state would have homes like those. We are looking for something spacious that would house 4 families - 8 adults, 5 kids. And it wouldn't hurt to have a really big house so everyone can have their own space.
