This snow needs to stop--for the sake of my credit card limit

Anonymous
Am I the only person who has spent a small fortune buying stuff online during her "snow days" "staycation"? I swear, every time the baby takes a nap, I think "I really should clean the bathroom" and I have done the occasional load of laundry. At least once. But mostly I'm on line looking for all manner of stuff to buy. And buying it. Our credit card bill is going to be enormous. I definitely need to go back to work!!!

I haven't done it, but I really want to! I keep thinking of things I want to order - then I remember that we are budgeting. Sigh.

For some reason I haven't considering online shopping. Maybe since everything is practically crippled here, my brain things it is elsewhere as well. These storms have been great for my wallet, but horrible for my waistline.

What have you been buying, OP? Clothes? Just curious. I know you're not the only one!

I'm a big online shopper. However, I also enjoy pretty quick gratification (not instant because it's online, and I know it'll take at least a day...) but with this weather, I can't handle the thought that something I buy today may take *gasp* more than 3 days to get to me...So, I've been safe so far.

Not the OP, but today I bought 2 hats, a sweater and 5 pairs of boots - 1 pair for DH, 1 pair for DD and 1 for DS for next winter and 2 for me.

I haven't done any shopping. Feel too fat and gross after being cooped up.

I spent $250.

I've used most of the "time off" to search online for all the things we need for the baby's room and I plan to break out the credit card tomorrow to start making purchases! I wonder how I would have fit it all in had I actually been working??

You all have power- LUCKY- we had 3 days of no power with two under 4 - complete hell.. at a friend's house now.. our power came back yesterday but we cannot take chances.. I would SO love to be off work, warm, catching up on things/organizing and so on.. not all if us are as lucky- plus DH is working w/ calls all day and me with some work but no nanny- so it's been TOUGH.

So with you, OP! Last night DH had to throw me off the Neiman Marcus website. If the bag I wanted to go with the shirt I already put in my cart had been available, he wouldn't have been fast enough. Shouldn't it be illegal to deliver "The Book" right before a blizzard?

Yes: rainboots, long summer dress, ballet flats, and a two shirts so far. Oh, and a leather bench for the foot of our guestroom bed. Silly.

Baby clothes. There are some great season end sales still online.

House stuff. A lamp for the living room. Scrap booking page refills. Storage ottoman for living room (for kid toys spread all over living room.)

Baby proofing stuff.

Projects I might find time to do when my son turns 18. Knitting yarn. Heart shaped cooking pan.

I'm telling you--if I can find it online, I'm pretty much willing to buy it. Thank god I spend a certain amount of time on DCUM. That's at least a few minutes of the day I can't shop.

I just bought 2 dressers and a coffee table, thanks to this thread!
Oh boy...

Funny, I keep filling my online shopping carts then chickening out when I see the total. I think if it were next week I would do it since my credit card cycle closes on Saturday. If it snows next week, watch out AmEx.
