This is probably a very long shot, but I figured why not... Since the pandemic began, life has started to feel a little small. I'm realizing that I could use some more parent friends with little ones, especially those who are free to meet up during the typical workday.
I'm the mom of a 15 month old boy and we live in Brookland, NE. My husband works FT, and since COVID started I've been working PT while doing full-time childcare. (I work at a nonprofit that supports older adults.) If you'd be down to do a distanced park meetup one day, shoot me a note! I have a car and am game to travel. emma.klingenstein@gmail.com |
This is a DC area forum. I think it will be hard to meet people during the middle of a pandemic. I barely see my family and closest friends. |
I recommend joining some facebook groups for parents in your area, check to see if there is a Brookland moms group. Also check out Free Forest School group. Despite what PP says, many parents are doing masked meetups outdoors. Good luck. |
Definitely try posting on a neighborhood listserv or Facebook group! I’m in Petworth—which is not far from Brookland—and there are multiple lists for the neighborhood. Try searching on google groups. |
There's a Brookland parents listserve, and there might be a FB group. I'd start there, and maybe try posting on NextDoor as well. I live in Mt Rainier and we have a pretty active FB group and one for Rt1 Moms, so there might be a similar FB group for NE. |
What? Brookland is in DC. Do you live in Lorton or something? |
PP is obviously thinking OP meant Nebraska! |
