Personal reviews of the 2020 Highlander?

Anyone have one and care to offer their thoughts?

We have two tweens and a small dog and this would be the main family car. Coming from a minivan.

It’s significantly less roomy than a minivan and cargo space is barely anything if you’re accustomed to a minivan. We considered one and test drove it about a month ago (also coming from a minivan) and decided not to get it.

What did you decide instead? I am restricted by the fact that the new car MUST fit through my single garage door. A lot of SUV’s won’t (pilot and traverse for example.) Even the new odyssey (I have an older one) would require me to purchase Elite for the power folding mirrors to fit through the opening.

The current MDX will fit, but the redesign should be out in a few months so I want to see that before I decide. Just gathering my options at this point.

We have same constraint it sucks. Cars are so wide now.

Highlander is best option as of a year ago.

OP here. It’s really frustrating.

My two kids are petite girls and we don’t do a lot of carpooling or gear-heavy activities so I’m hoping a smaller car will be okay. 3rd row will likely be down most of the time. That said I don’t want to go too small because we do occasionally car pool and also take a ton of crap with us to the beach each summer. Plus I like shopping at Costco.

with the 3rd row down you have plenty of room, we have one with two captains chairs as the second row and it is great. when we carpool it is easy to access the 3rd row.
