| For people that have already voted - how long are the lines these days for early voting in Fairfax County? Planning to vote this afternoon or tomorrow at the Government Center. Or are mornings better? TIA! |
|
I work there and see the line in the morning and again in the afternoon. It is typically about 2 hours from start to finish.
There are 14 more stations opening up on Oct. 14. You can go to any of them. You can also request and absentee ballot by mail and right now, they are being processed very quickly. If you request it today, you will get it in about 7-10 days. Then you can drop it off if you like. There are about 200 precincts, so if you wait until election day, there are far fewer people trying to use that one precinct than what you are seeing at the only current voting place (Fairfax Gov. Cntr). |
This is OP - thank you PP! I already have my absentee ballot, but want to vote in person this time. I stopped by the Govt Center around 3 pm yesterday, but the lines were pretty long so ended up leaving. I'll try one of the satellite locations once they open in a week. |
You can take your ballot to the drop box at Gov Ctr. My sister did that last week. There is no line for the drop box. |
I am the PP.... you actually might be better off going to the Govt Cntr when all the other satellite locations open! |
PP is correct. I work there and I dropped it off one day and it showed up on the elections computers as received by the next day. You wouldn't have access to this, but I'm just using this as an example of how it worked for me (I have access to the elections site). |
