VP debate thread

I know it is two days away, but maybe we can start a thread here to discuss what will happen and updates as they are posted? I do not understand how the debate can go on as scheduled at least indoors. Pence has clearly been exposed, whether or not he is positive or quarantining. Even if he has a negative test, he could test positive within Days as it is all over the white house.

I don’t understand how Harris can agree to debate in person under these conditions. Has anyone heard about any precautions being taken? Do we know what’s going on?

The debate should be virtual or with plexiglass between them and more than 12 feet they are planning. There is no need for everyone to be so close. And no audience.

I don’t understand why this at least wouldn’t be moved to DC. They’re both already here.

If Nixon and Kennedy could debate via cc tv in 1960, so can Pence and Harris.

If I’m Kamala, no way am I entering a room with that man.

OP here. I think at an absolute minimum it should be outside. The weather permits

The Trump side LIED under the “honor code” for testing pre-debate. They outright lied that he had been tested. Then, everyone except Trump, Wallace and Biden were supposed to be in masks the entire thing and his family took theirs off.

The Dems need to say that given the blatant dishonesty from the Republican side And disregard for the honor code that they cannot be trusted and any debate will need to be virtual.

Add in the White aHouse is now a Covid epicenter and needs to be shut down ...given the high number of recent positives coming out of there.

Yeah, Senator Harris needs to bring a screen just like Jaime Harrison did to the debate in SC on Saturday. It's a nice visual reminder during the entire debate which side is spreading the disease and which side is slowing the spread.

But it wouldn’t necessarily keep her safe; who knows how many Pence lackeys would show up positive and take their masks off to try and infect her!

+1 She definitely should take every precaution and I like the idea of the visual reminder as well.

Harrison flexed with the plex, then CRUSHED Graham in the debate.

I agree, they should either do it in a virtual format like Zoom, or make sure that Pence and Harris do not cross paths. Separate entrances, no mingling at all, and a plexiglass divider between both them and in front of moderator.

Pence should not be traveling. He should be in quarnatine for 14 days at home. Having an inperson debate goes against CDC rules.

This.
This is a national security issue. The president is in the hospital for goodness’ sake.

At the very minimum Harris should wear an N95 mask throughout the debate.

+100 He cannot attend an in-person debate.
