This storm signficantly downgraded?

Anonymous
I have read this here, and heard from the man standing behind me in the grocery that we are expected to only get 5 inches now. But I can't find this anywhere.

Has it been downgraded? Might we leave the house before spring?

OP here.

Just saw on the news that we are expected to get 8 inches. Hell of a lot better than 16-20 which is what I saw this morning on the news.

OP where do you live?

This was updated around 3:30 pm today: He's saying areas N and NE of DC will be getting the most snow -- so MD watch out, if you are in VA or DC less to worry about.

This storm will not produce the same high snow totals in DC that last weekends storm did, but another 8" to 12" of snow, after a brief period of sleet this evening, will only add insult to injury for many snow-weary Washingtonians. This storm will produce more heavy snow just to the North of DC. Montgomery, Howard, Frederick and Carroll Counties will get the most snow with some places getting another 14" to 18"

Total accumulations: We still expect accumulations to range from 6-10" across much of the area with a band of higher snow totals ranging from 8-16" focused on the northern portion and northeast. The highest accumulation potential is up toward Baltimore and northeast.

but it's the sleet I'm worried about.

Am I the only one who thinks 6 to 10 inches is still a lot -- especially on top of everything that is out there?

Also, the news is stressing that the wind will be quite severe tomorrow...at times reaching 50 mph -- good grief!!!

I always heard it wasn't the size of the snowfall that mattered anyway...
