Okay, dumb questions but...I managed to bash my face with a door this am (its been that kind of week) and it really, really hurt. Th the upper area/bridge of my nose is swollen and bumpy/crooked 'm starting to bruise under one eye and feel some headache pressure and a little pain but mostly only when I touch it. No blood from inside and it doesn't seem like I obviously broke it--doesn't look terribly crooked etc. but its possible.
1) if its not really bleeding or obviously displaced, do I need to see a doctor or just wait until swelling resolves? 2) is there any danger in working out (exercise bike?) 3) if I broke it, should i finally get that nose job I've been thinking about for 10 years?! (I have a large nose for my petite face, but it was always straight, just a bit too long and bulbuous at the tip. Now I have a large nose with a bump--though that might go away). I mean, this is the perfect time to get plastic surgery--I'm working from home and can wear masks out!!! On the other hand, I'm almost 50 so is it worth it... |
I think, in general, you are quite aware when your nose has been broken. |
See a doctor! It may be fine, but you might need surgery. |
Honestly, it sounds broken. Min did that years ago. I went to the ER, they did nothing, and then it healed crooked. I had a nose job done to fix it about 2 years later. You are fine to work our if it’s not bothering you when you do. |
I've broken my nose twice and it was not obvious the first time around. I ended up needing to get surgery to correct it because the bone had already started to heal crooked by the time the doctor's realized what happened
The second time I went to see an ENT the next day and he just broke it back into place in the office. So much easier and less expensive. You don't need to go to the ER but I would definitely make an ENT appointment. |
After I broke my nose and had it fixed, I was told not to do any exercising for a while. Definitely check with a doctor on this! |
Get the surgery, if anyone asks just say deviated septem. You’ll avoid the strange comments and looks from people who will think you had your nose done for cosmetic reasons |
I find the opposite. I never knew until a bump developed months later. |
