I am grateful that our power is now on, that I bought my d's birthday gifts ahead of time instead of spur of the mail order moment that I ususally do, that I was able to talk to my neighbors instead of giving a vague wave of recognition, that all of my kids have playdates tomorrow, that soon it will be eighty degrees and I'll stand in the dark looking at the stars and remember the snow storm that happened so many months ago. |
![]() I am grateful that at some point this storm will be a distant memory. |
I am grateful that so far the biggest problem is cabin fever |
I'm grateful that I got to rest for a few days, but I am not grateful for the food baby I have now. |
I'm most grateful that I'm no longer a TV reporter who would have been required to stand outside for hours on end and come up with a million ways to say, "it's snowing!" Instead, I'm in my warm, cozy home with my family....ENJOYING what so many people are complaining about. For this former reporter, the view's never looked so good! |
I'm ever so grateful our power has been restored! Relocating with kid, husband, dog was too much and I'm praying that the power stays on during the next snowstorm. |
I am grateful that our children are relatively healthy, sleeping through the night, we have heat, our street was plowed, and work is flexible about attendance. I am grateful that we have plenty of stuff to do around the house while the snow mounts up. I am grateful that we have GREAT neighbors who have kids that are our children's age. In short, Life is Good (although I would prefer to see some sun right about now.) |
I am grateful that I have a generator and a husband who LOVES plowing the streets/driveways with his tractor![]() |
I am grateful that this thread has not turned nasty yet, to have our power back and to know that the cherry blossoms will be open in a couple of months and the DC area will be basking in some nice warm sunshine again. |
I am grateful that we did not lose power during the last storm and had plenty of yummy food to eat. We are all healthy (minus a few runny noses) and this too shall pass. I am grateful that we have family in Florida and we are visiting them there at the end of this month! (Pre-planned before all the crazy weather.) |
Exactly PP, I have been looking forward to cherry blossoms since the first December snowstorm!

I am grateful the power is still on, the kids are playing happily, the CABLE is on, and the Bachelor was as ridiculous as I thought it would be. |
I am grateful that I have power to watch LOST tonight, that my DH is great with a shovel, that we are eating leftovers tonight so NO cooking and that there is a cold beer waiting for Mama once the terrible teething toddler is night night. |
I am grateful that we have not lost power (please don't let this jinx me for this storm); we have a warm home, cable, internet, netflix, fireplaces, warm baths; comfy beds; books to read; we like each other; music; wine; board games; motrin (my kids are sick); iphone; ability to plan a trip in March somewhere sunny; good snow boots; great food at home; good friends that we know we will help and that will help us if needed.
We are not in Haiti |
I am so incredibly grateful for my Rockville neighbors. We lost power in our neighborhood, and didn't see a snow plow until Tuesday. All our neighbors came together and shoveled/snow blowed out our street to get to the next street that was plowed.
