The two places we usually go have slim pickings due to a cold snap in May. Any recommendations for places within an hours drive (MD or VA). Thanks! |
We went to Great Country farms today. I’m not an expert in what constitutes a great crop but we were able to get a few boxes of shockingly overpriced apples. GCF has so much to do and we love it though! |
The prices on PYO are outrageous. I just take my kids to the play area and buy my produce at Wegmans or Costco. |
I vote for apple trees. Answer seems a little obvious. Please stop wasting our time |
We had a good experience at Hollins Farm this past weekend. |
Went to Great Country Farms and it was not enforcing any COVID rules. Full tractors, tons of people. Check the recent reviews of any farm before you go. |
Not surprised. My Facebook feed is chock full of "our kids aren't missing out on anything" photos of apple picking or some other tradition, with a mask or two in the foreground, and tons of unmasked faces unrelated to each other in the background. They think their pictures are giving you FOMO, but they're just disgusting. |
Homestead apples were gross this year.
And please save the hysterics. Being outside in masks spaced out on a farm is perfectly safe. The only person we got close to was the guy taking our money for the over priced apples. My kids had a blast. Get out now while you can; the winter is going to be miserable and you’ll be glad you took advantage in the fall. |
Really? I posted above. We enjoyed our visit. I’d say 99 percent of adults and 90 percent of kids were masked and those who were not were far afield from us. In the tractor 99 percent of kids and adults were masked and we had plenty of room to distance. No line at tractors. Plenty of space to play. The only time I saw an issue is when kids were on the bouncy thing. Not all kids has masks and they were not socially distant. But there is now a second bouncy thing that was empty. |
LOL. I know right? ![]() |
