In person school question

Are the kids at the preschool level sharing tables while eating lunch?
Anonymous
Yes but 1 at each end vs 5/6 at a table.

Also picnic style as well
Anonymous
Yes, ours is but they're eating boxed lunches so they are not serving themselves/being served from common plates.

Give it up people. Enough
Anonymous
Ours is not. They brought in individual desks for each kid.

This is the third day for our Preschool being on-site. Each student sits at his/her assigned table where they also do s/he does his/her work throughout the day. Each has a yoga mat to do work on the floor because they are easily cleaned.

The idea of preschoolers sitting alone at desks all day doing "work" is awful. Is that what most preschools have done, instead of allowing them to play?

My kid is definitely coming home with more artwork than before, but they’re still allowed to play and are outside twice per day.

Their work is play! Puzzles, pretend cars, artwork, etc. They aren’t doing lines in Dickensian misery for Pete’s sake.

FFS. You know what preschool-aged kids of working parents were doing before daycares and preschools reopened? Endless hours of screen time. Is that better in your mind? Nothing about this year is perfect. For many, myself included, having kids in preschool with certain accommodations and new rules far exceeds the alternative.
