Anyone going to drive through boo at the zoo?

I’m a little confused about the format- do we literally get to drive through the zoo? On a good day the animals are hard to spot. Not sure what to expect at night in a car. I know it’s unlikely that anyone has insight on what this will be like or if it is worth it, but how is this all supposed to work?

I see no reason to start now.

Its driving only on the road outside the zoo.

There’s a map on the website - no, it isn’t through the middle of the zoo but down the road from the Connecticut Ave entrance down to the parking area near the Kids Farm.

I think it’ll be decorated and festive. We got tickets because we always go to boo at the zoo, so it’s a small way of continuing the tradition (and it supports the zoo).

Do I think it’ll be some super amazing event? No. But my kids will enjoy it.

Skipping this year. Doesn’t seem worth it. Sounds like it’s just going to be sitting in traffic.

You can’t really see the animals during regular Boo at the Zoo either. It’s just a candy grab.

The point of Boo at the Zoo is seeing the lights and decorations, and getting candy. I assume that they will put up the lights and decorations along the road, and I know that they give you the candy at the end. We go every year, so, even though we don't think it will be as good this year, we want to continue the tradition and support the Zoo.

I am going to try. Guess we will see how it is.

Op here. Oh no. I feel like I just paid 50 bucks to sit in traffic. Ha ha oh well.

Amazing it's sold out to sit in the car and ride from one parking lot to another and collect treats along the way

I agree- I went to look at the page for this and was surprised it is sold out! Good for the zoo that they are getting the money but seems like just paying to sit in a line of traffic and get candy at the end

We view it as "paying to support the Zoo, an institution we have gotten a lot of enjoyment out of over the years." The candy is a bonus.

I am all for supporting the zoo, but I'd prefer to just cut a check. This event does not sound fun to me. But, I hope it winds up being fun for you and your family.
