Estrace Vaginally or Orally?

Just wondering for those that did IUI, did you take Estrace (Estradiol) orally or vaginally?

It's normally prescribed orally. The only time I have ever seen it used vaginally is for donor egg cycles.

Vaginally. For IUI cycle at SG, to improve/thicken lining.

I thought it was weird b/c the instructions on the bottle said to take orally, but the nurse insisted it was vaginally and said they always tell IUI patients to take it vaginally.

So I did some research, and apparently it works MUCH better and very quickly when taken vaginally.

You'll need a pantiliner for sure. I was also taking prometrium vaginally, so they combined for a lovely "yellow + blue makes green" discharge.

OP here. I talked to the doc and he said to please take it vaginally since it works better and faster. I just started taking the Prometrium this morning. And yes, it will be green. Ick!
