A bunch of women come out of the woodworks two lodge decades old accusations against the candidate of one of the two major political parties in this country two weeks before a hotly contested national election. We should definitely believe them!

Moore is already a confirmed liar - he lied about not receiving a salary from his charity. Why should we believe a known liar like him? Especially when 30 people confirmed the WaPo story. THIRTY who were willing to go on record about it. Vs. a man who lied about a charity.

You're right. He wasn't truthful about one thing, therefore we should believe every allegation against him with little to no evidence. Guilty before proven innocent. I like that.

That's a pretty huge thing to lie about and speaks volumes about his character. Why should we believe him now?

What? Why should we believe his denials? This is twisted and guilty before proven innocent. The question is, in fair societies anyway, whether we should believe the accusations. The accusations are subject to proof and skepticism.

This. Gay sex between two consenting adults is apparently an abomination, but molestation of a 14 year old girl by a 32 year old man is no big deal. Disgusting.

Being honest here? The effort to discredit these women just makes them all the more credible.

You and others here wouldn't be trying so hard if you didn't believe them.

Ok, so Moore would have been tried with second degree rape if something happened that no one alleges happened. Guess what? You could also be tried for second degree rape if you also did what no one has alleged you've done. See how that works?

Cool, I'll ask my uncle to head to your house and feel up your daughter. You won't mind, of course.

Your uncle is into that sort of thing?

Half the posters here fooled around with older men as teenagers -- consensually. Who is kidding whom?

And really, how do we know that girl was 14? She may be mis-recollecting. She could easily have been 16-17. Kind of hard to say 40 years later.

I see that you are in the "believe the allegations but don't think Moore did anything wrong camp". I'm not sure if that is better or worse than the "lies, all lies" camp. But, in regard to your question about age, they know the date that Moore picked her up because they found the court records of the hearing. They know the woman's date of birth and presumably they can do math.

When you have people who confirm that the 14 year old told them about it at the time and a mother who confirms her daughter told her about it some years later - that's good enough for me to lean toward believing the accuser over the man who has already shown his willingness to lie in a major way that, if it didn't break laws, probably warrants financial penalties. Sure, bring him to court and see what a court of law says about this molestation charge. But I have seen no reason to suggest this woman had an irrational vendetta against Moore and made up a story and got her friends and mother to play along with it.

Sure if I did something wrong I should get in trouble even if no one has alleged that I did it.

Once Moore gets fired, you should hire him as a nanny for your kids!

Focus on this. You don’t know what any of the posters here “did,” were the victims of, or were accused of doing. You do you.

It's Alabama, so that last statement is questionable.

So it's just kinda questionable if the girl was 14, but perfectly acceptable to ask a 16 or 17 year old to undress and touch your erection.

You people should just stop. I can't tell if you're genuinely amoral or trying hard to solidify the Trump supporter stereotype. Both are nauseating.

And a reminder that this sh*t Moore did happens all the time.

she was 14, not 16. and he staked his claim on her outside a custody hearing. she was not an adult by any stretch.
