It increasingly seems like marital discord. I assume Kate is not in poor health, because based on social media/movements, her family doesn’t appear stressed or concerned. To me, most plausible is that separate from any surgery or health issues, something happened and she went to ground with her parents while she and Will are at odds, possibly as a negotiation strategy? If she is not cooperating, KP/Will won’t have “proof of life” - and it fits that recent faux pas are bad decisions dictated by Will.

As for why AP redacted photos - it’s pretty drastic, but their line is pretty extreme. If you read AP photo policy, basically what it says is they won’t publish deep fakes/AI generated photos. In this case, I think there was too much photo shopping. Kate’s head has clearly been photoshopped on (edit line breaks the zippers/clothing under her head, fuzzy around her hair). Even if it was to get a better photo/her eyes were closed, etc, if the point of the photo is effectively proof of life, I could see AP drawing the line.

This is insane! It’s literally the same clothing, edited. They really think the “commoners” of the world are stupid. I love how this is blowing up!

It won’t get better at this point until she shows her face.

I don’t know what to think now. It’s possible she’s on steroids and has ballooned, and is embarrassed or not ready to reveal herself. That’s fine, but then don’t post a clearly, and badly, edited photo.

It’s possible she has a colostomy bag and wants privacy. That’s also fine, but so much more easily hidden under a dress, flowing top, spring jacket, etc.

If she can’t stand, a current photo could have been taken in a chair, on a couch, etc, rather quickly. Louis would be expected to flub the picture and the other two children have always been cooperative for the camera. Nothing surprising here.

The bottom line is SOMETHING is amiss.

She either looks like crap, can’t stand, or has an embarrassing implement related to her recovery.

Or maybe they are getting a divorce and their PR team just sucks.

It’s not just the Kate aspect that’s weird. It’s William and the palaces behavior.

In past crises, when William and Kate have been out at event they are smiling and thanking well wishers. It’s all “thank you so much, so-and-so is on the mend and the family will be fine.” William has been tight lipped here. Canceling appearances. Issuing statements with his crest alone. Not pictured with his kids or father. The palace is denying things -with terrible excuses- that they would never acknowledge in the past.

The royal family is in crisis. There is something deeply wrong with William and Kate’s relationship and possibly impacting relationships further into the royal family. I don’t know exactly what, but W & K’s estrangement seems like only the tip of the iceberg.

I hope she is doing okay but I think sending out a doctored photograph was a horrible and irresponsible decision.

No, I think you sound pretty ridiculous. The BRF is not images, it's people. People that go out and interact with others, are known to the people of the UK and the Commonwealth.

The kids are in school, Charles is going through cancer treatment, William is taking care of Kate, and she is experiencing significant medical issues. They are people, not images.

Are the kids in school? Or were they pulled out? Asking genuinely.

I would also like to know this- have the kids been seen since 12/28? In the last month even? Are they in school?

Not trying to defend the BRF, but pretty much every celebrity’s photos are doctored today. Most photographers in our area offer “retouching” as a standard part of their packages. Even my kids are “retouched” - and sometimes photoshopped from a better photo - on our holiday card.

It’s why folks like Kim Kardashian look so great on Instagram and terrible in the pap shots.

This seems at least plausible. But it underscores how insane the speculation has gotten. Yesterday people said this photo is proof Catherine is paralyzed, evidenced by the way she’s sitting. Today they’re saying it is from a day in November she was seen walking around.

She looks fabulous. Happy but obviously tired and authentically recovering. Her kids look so relaxed and pleased. The “issues” with the photos people are highlighting are so overblown. You know there’s a commercial on TV here Google pix can put smiles on people’s faces. It’s absurd to be this upset. Conspiracy theorists need to get a life, like a real one.
