DCUM, please talk me down.
I came out of the grocery store a bit ago and headed to my car. The person parked next to me was smoking and blowing it out of the window. She was backed in so she was facing my drivers side and only a few inches away. I loaded my groceries as quickly as I could and left but am so anxious about this. Thank you to anyone taking the time to read this. I do have an anxiety disorder. |
Are you worried about the smoke or about germs? |
You're fine. If you're finding your anxiety is not well controlled, it is worth a chat with your doctor. |
Um you are fine. |
I'm afraid of Covid. |
Thank you. |
It's definitely not well controlled. Thank you for the suggestion, I will call him. |
The risk is very low, OP, if you were wearing a mask. Most transmission occurs with droplets, which you could not have caught in this situation. The other transmission is via aerosolization, which is possible in such a situation. However, it's rare. So please relax. |
Ya dead. I hope you have a will. |
You're fine OP. That was incredibly brief contact, in an outdoor so therefore well ventilated setting. And the percentage of people in the general population who are actually transmitting communicable levels of virus is quite low.
Truly, you're fine. |
OP you are totally fine. Don't give it another thought. |
I hate it when people back their cars in.
Not as much as I hate smokers. But a smoker who backs their car in? I hope they die a hard death. |
Why??? it's so much easier to park. |
I am on medication for anxiety. and it freaks me out too when i can smell someone else's cigarette smoke. Its like, if I can smell the smoke, I can breath their covid, lol. you're most likely fine though. |
Well, OP is likely fine but COVID has been shown to hitch a ride on cigarettes smoke. It’s like an infectious amplifier so we all should avoid smokers even more than usual.
