Is there a way to stop an email in my inbox from flashing pictures?

I have an email in my inbox that I need to save for a few weeks. I usually file or delete my emails so don't have a lot in my inbox, so this one is at the top of the list. It flashes pictures at a super-annoying fast pace.

The easy work-around would be to just leave another, more recent email, in my inbox, to be the default email that is open, but I thought maybe I can learn how to stop stuff like this.
