Hi, I have a question about Gonal-F.... I received a box of Gonal-F which was refrigerated from our doctor, and within a day(24hours) I could put it back to refrigerator.
As I had an emergent surgery right before starting IVF, I could not use the box of Gonal-F for 6 months, so it was stored in fridge...the expiration date written on the box of Gonal-F is April 2021. Do you think this date is still valid..? Or it was in room temperature for 24 hours, so I cannot use this anymore...? It would be great if I could hear any advise. Thank you. |

from the patient's prescribing info:
Store the Gonal-f ® RFF Redi-ject® refrigerated 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) until dispensed. Upon dispensing, store Redi-ject® refrigerated 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) until the expiration date, or at room temperature 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F) for up to three months or until the expiration date, whichever occurs first. After the first injection, store refrigerated 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) or at 17 room temperature 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) for up to 28 days. Protect from light. Do not freeze. Discard unused material after 28 days. https://www.emdserono.com/us-en/pi/gonal-f-rff-redi-ject-pi.pdf You should be ok |
| It’s fine, you have 28 days to use it now. Omnitrope and Neupogen must be refrigerated at all times, most others have a short window (7-28 days) where it can be kept at room temp. |

Thank you very much for all of your advise. And I think my explanation was very confusing... sorry about that.
I meant, the box of Gonal-F was in room temperature in March for 24 hours, and since then, I have been storing it in fridge for 6 months. It seems once you put Gonal-F in room temperature, the box will be good to use for up to 3 months. In my case, it is already 6 months .... but I am hoping the box was out in room temperature only for 24 hours back in March, so the original expiration date written on the box(April 2021) is valid. Hope this makes sense....thank you. |
| I had a similar situation. Did you end up using the gonal f? |
