Chocolate Cravings

Anonymous
Most of the time I can minimize my chocolate cravings. Tonight I just could not. Think it is related to stress. So since I do not have any serious chocolate in my house, I ate a chocolate Da Kind bar. Not satisfying but all I had. I wish I could keep chocolate in the house for when I really need it. But I can't. It's my crack.

Just looking for others who feel the same. Perfect posters, please do us all a favor and just move along.

There are instant diet hot chocolate packets available that do the job when you need a sweet fix.

chocolate cravings usually mean you are low in magnesium, so you can always buy a supplement. Not that there’s anything wrong with chocolate!

Trader Joe’s is my favorite for single small serving chocolate items.

Their “Honey mints” are like a peppermint pattie—not quite as good though, so while they are tasty, you won’t want a lot because one is enough. Plus you end with a mint taste in your mouth (like brushing your teeth) which is also not conducive to making you want more chocolate!

Their dark chocolate mini PB cups are delicious

Chocolate covered coffee beans (99c pouch at the registers)

Hold the cone mini ice cream cones.

And not at TJs, but Target and many grocery stores carry Yasso frozen yogurt bars. The plain chocolate is only 80-90 calories and very good and satisfying. Some of the other fancy flavors are amazing, but those calories increase.

This will sound weird but is really good: mash a banana with unsweetened cocoa powder (I use about 1 tbsp).

Or a few Hershey’s Kisses but the portion control can be tricky.

brush your teeth and go to bed.

or just eat a very small piece of extra bitter chocolate.

I've found I can keep dark chocolate in the house. Costco has individually wrapped Godiva hearts that are pretty good.

I keep very dark chocolate in my house. Trader Joe’s has an 83%. I find one small block will do the trick.

Buy chocolate. Something good, none of that diet crap. Eat a piece every day. After a while you will drop the scarcity mindset. Once you realize that you can have it whenever you want you stop letting it have control over you.

I like the Ghiradelli Intense Dark Sea Salt individually wrapped squares. 160 calories per 3 squares, so about 53-54 calories each. And the wrappers are more "unopened" to me, more so than a foil wrap. So I can just eat one and be done.

Sometimes I'll drink unsweetened cocoa, or eat unsweetened chocolate. It's good!

Yes I love these too! Soo good. I used to buy the big tub but DH and I would just go to town on them.

Now I just get a dark chocolate bar with almonds and sea salt. Its already sectioned into little squares so I'll usually just have one or two of them to satisfy that craving. Hiding food also can work. Out of sight, out of mind lol.

Eat the chocolate that you are actually craving for, but in small portion and eat it slowly. I get these cravings close or during period and I know it's really hormonal because they are intense and can't really be satisfied with any substitution, but once I have them, the crazy craving usually go away, pair it with plain tea.
