gluten free whole grains?

Two members of my family can't eat gluten, and at the same time I'd like to try more whole grains. Other than brown rice, anybody know of any whole graints that are gluten-free?

Buckwheat/Kasha
Flax and flaxseed
Millet
Quinoa
Sorghum
Teff

(basically anything other than wheat barley and rye)

Cornmeal, flax and quinoa were big ones in my house, along with brown rice

It is considered a "whole" grain if it is in it's whole form and not processed into something else; example brown rice is a whole grain, white rice is not because it is missing part of the whole rice grain

Same with wheat, whole wheat flour is made from the whole wheat grain, white flour is made from only part of it

So all the grains mentioned above are whole grains because they are a whole item, like brown rice or corn meal (whole corn kernel ground up) or quinoa

It is helpful to go to somewhere like WFs so you can see what they look like and buy small quantities of the different grains to experiment with cooking them

If OP really has someone with a gluten allergy in the house maybe she should educate herself on what the person with the allergy can comsume. I'm sure the doctor who made the diagnosis provided literature to her rather than telling her to ask on an internet forum.

Gluten allergies are serious and shouldn't be taken so lightly.

OP here. We've been gluten free for a long time. My question was about the WHOLE grain aspect. White rice is a little tiresome and not so good for you, and we're tired of brown rice, so thought I'd check on the other grains. And, surprise surprise, not all the quinoa etc. packages will say they are gluten free. Forgive me for thinking I might get some good ideas here. And if this question is so irritating as to request that I "go annoy my husband," then maybe you're on the wrong forum - your standards are obviously too high (but have you perused the rest of the forum?).
