Trying to sense of whether a 15-minute car trip each way is reasonable.
Mine is 5 minutes away. There is another about 15 minutes away that is cheaper and we choose the 5 minute one. It was the right decision for us. If you have to plan an extra half hour or so on top of your workout, we figured we wouldn't go so often. But, an extra 10 minutes is nothing.

5 minute drive. It's pretty expensive, too, with lots of free classes that I never take but I knew that it had to be convenient in order for me to keep my workout as part of my schedule. I'm in my 50s and my body is breaking down faster these days. If I don't stay in shape I will feel horrible. Don't want to have an old age like that.
Do what you gotta do to work out regularly. |
5 min. Ditto the PPs on convenience - it takes away excuses for not going. If there isn't a gym closer than 15 min from your house, maybe you could find one that is on the way to or from work, or near work?
Same thing, 5 min drive / 15 min walk.
Mine is 1 mile from my house, and I pass it on the way to/from work. Hard to make an excuse when you pass it every day.
