MoCo sends out incorrect voter info

Anonymous
This has been an active thread on my local listserv and it’s unfortunate because the numbers below are being widely disseminated during election judge training. Anyone have connections with the powers that be to help MoCo fix this before the election?

Dear neighbors, We have discovered that Several widely used numbers and website for voter information and absentee ballots, listed on all the Montgomery County literature and websites, are erroneous and do not work.

Here are the erroneous ones that seem like they are helping but ultimately miscarry:

240 -777-Vote (8683)
* if you call this number it does not work. If you press “1 for help” it says invalid entry. If you press “0” you get the town of Gaithersburg who says they have nothing to do with this and are plagued with similar calls since MoCo Board of elections posted the wrong number
www.777vote.org
*if you go to this website, you will fill out a long form that gives you an application for the PRIMARY election with no way to request a ballot for the GENERAL election

The correct information that works properly is as follows:

240-777-8550, and

absentee@montgomerycounty.gov

That long form you say is for the primary election works for the general election. I filled it out a couple weeks ago and they emailed me a week later saying I would get an absentee ballot. I just checked my registration and it says I'll be voting by mail for the Presidential election. I think some of the questions are just in there so that they can cover both primary and general elections without changing the site.

Look guys we may have to vote in person. I know it's risky but it might help to end the nightmare.

Yeah I’m just voting in person- early voting most likely. I’ll take the day off if I have to. Those of us who can do this need to help reduce the burden on the system.

? how so? You mean because there would be no question about voter fraud? eh.. Trump will find any way to claim voter fraud. I have been voting by mail for the past several elections.

Not to mention he won’t claim fraud in Maryland because it’s too blue so vote by mail is fine here.

Yes but it says “primary” election. You think someone in MoCO could be bothered to update this months after the primary. Plus the phone number issue is terrible.

+1. You would think someone could be bothered to update a form to say “general election.” Since so many are voting by mail, people don’t get a chance to see if their registrations are invalid. And putting a number for voter query calls that does not work is beyond stupid
