Basis 5th/A for us as well. (I’m on the google 5th grade listserve initiated by a parent and know some kids are struggling to figure out assignments and expectations, and are generally overwhelmed by Teams and the workload. But my kid seems extremely happy, is learning and is self-sufficient. Yes, there have been — and continue to be — some bumps. But overall an A.)

Kindergarten issues: Six sign-ins a day. Two+ hour block with one small group meeting in the middle of day. Not on same schedule as brother. It’s manageable for a third grader. Hell for a kindergartener. This would never have flown if they Had sought feedback from parents.

Interesting. What are the issues? BASIS' DL approach is reputed to be kick ass.

Very organized and teachers have been great.

Brent/3/B. Too many important lessons (reading, writing, math) in the late afternoons, by which time my 8 year old's eyes have glazed over after 4 or even 5 hours of screen time.

Way too much screen time for the little kids all around in DCPS. We blow off half of it.
