Please bear in mind that we are using the word 'ran' very loosely, as in, 'anything faster than a walk."
But I have never in my life even run a mile before (maybe, when I was a kid, but even that is doubtful). It was slow, and it's not far, but still I am PROUD OF MYSELF.

| GO YOU! Keep at it. 2 miles is around the corner or be happy with 1.66. You could be sitting on the couch munching. I used to be a slow runner and only wish I could get back to it. |
| Yay OP! You go girl! (Or guy!) |
|
Woohoo! I am trying to get up the energy to go to my morning slow jog!
As I remind myself regularly, the worst jog/run is the one you never take! |
|
Congrats! Enjoy the feeling - running is seriously hard.
I could never run a mile as a kid and trained to do my first mile (plus some more, over time) as an adult, and it's really a great feeling. Great job, and keep it up! Kick some ass! |
| Congrats! Every step counts! |
| yay! Wonderful! |
| Considering you haven’t run a mile I think it’s a huge mental win that you pushed past 1 to 1.66. Awesome! I agree with PP that you definitely have 2 in you not too long from now. 😉 |
| We are proud of you too!!!! GREAT job!!! |
| Yay OP! Once you get past the painful start to a run, it just clicks and it's much easier to keep going. The first part is the worst. |
| Good job!!!! |
| Good job! Get back out there and do 1.76 tomorrow! |
| Yay! After each one of my slow "runs" of a mile or two I tell myself: lapping the people on the couch. Go you! |
Yay! |
| Woo hoo! Rockstar! I am impressed, and I could not do it. Good for you! |
