Heterozygous MTHFR on Lovenox during pregnancy?

Anonymous
I have just found out that I am heterozygous for MTHFR and have been advised to take daily Lovenox injections in my next pregnancy. (I had IUGR issues in my first 2 pregnancies). There is conflicting information about whether heterozygous MTHFR can cause these kinds of pregnancy problems. I'd love to hear from anyone out there with heterozygous MTHFR. How is/were your pregnancies handled and did you have positive outcomes?

Hi, I am compound hetero and was told that Lovenox was NOT necessary unless I had a personal history of a clot (which I don't). I was only tested b/c my mom has a hisotry of a clot and they ran the panel on me, and that is the only problem I came up with.

We didn't know I had this with my 1st pregnancy and I didn't do anything special, not even the Folgard that I'm on now (which is scary to think that I wasn't on it), and he was fine. Do you have any other problems with it, e.g., Factor V, ACA, etc?

Is lovenox the same as heperain? I gave myself injections 2 x a day for the entire pregnancy on # 2 because of a factor problem, Did not have the problem with first baby, but lost 3 in between b/c of this problem. I took baby asprin everyday too. I have a very healthy boy. Good luck

I was treated with twice daily lovenox injections during my pregnancy. I was compound hetero MTHFR, but also had another blood clotting disorder. My pregnancy was overall healthy and ended with the birth of a beautiful baby.

Are you being monitored with ultrasounds as well? I received monthly ultrasounds to check for any problems that the clotting disorders might cause.
