How long did it take your teen to learn to drive?

| A week or so for the basics. Followed by months of me praying and gesturing in the passenger seat. |

We could not go out often, and I am pretty cautious, so it took maybe a year and a half.
Mind you, she technically has her license now, but I have little confidence in her abilities, and still feel like she is learning. (I rarely let her drive alone and am petrified the few times we have been on a highway). Not sure how you survive their learning the beltway or 95! |
